Michael Shrum has been the Lead Pastor at GCOG for the last five years. His wife, Shania serves alongside of him as the Ministry Coordinator and Women's Ministry Leader. Michael's heart is to serve others and to see a lost and dying world come to know Christ. He is passionate about the broken belonging and that the church is a place where you should come as you are and leave different than when you entered through Salvation because of the Blood of Jesus Christ. He believes that a church that Loves God and Loves People is a church that will be a united front, serve alongside others, and ultimately will be passionate to see their community and families be saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost. 

My desire as the GCOG Children's Pastor is to help the "Journey Kids" realize they are loved and cherished by God and their church family. They all have unique gifts and talents given by God and I want to help them discover and use them for His glory! I want them to know they can have a real relationship with God NOW! My goal is to guide them to the narrow road, and cheer them on as they walk their own Journey with Him. 

My heart longs to see an imperfect people chasing after a perfect God, using their most powerful weapon— worship. It’s a joy looking out and seeing a congregation seeking the Lord. My passion is to always allow the Holy Spirit to move first, love people like Jesus second, and give our best efforts with the talents God gave us third. I’ve experienced His grace and mercy time and time again and my prayer is for that to show while leading God’s people to experience the same. It’s an honor.

I’m passionate about helping our kids find and grow their relationship with Christ! By allowing them to explore tough questions and grow in their faith and understanding, we are allowing them a safe and supportive environment that will prepare them for their young adult lives. My heart is to walk alongside them as they discover their purpose and the incredible plans that God has for their lives.
